Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where facilitators can confidently host transformative retreats while guests reconnect with nature, strengthen relationships, and pursue personal growth.
Our vision is to be one of Ontario’s premier wellness retreat venues that supports the long-term stewardship of the Woodfield property.
Our Story
For more than a decade, Woodfield has been a sanctuary for families to heal through nature from the trauma of having a child with a serious illness. Today, Woodfield Nature Retreats builds on that legacy by transforming the property into a premier white-label retreat destination serving wellness practitioners, leadership coaches, educators, corporations, and community organizations across Ontario.
In 2008, when diagnosed with a serious illness, Michael Bradley embraced his healing journey with what he knew deep inside—that being in nature is healthy, relaxing, and restorative. Mike's journey of being in nature while connecting with friends, family, and himself, as he explored pathways to wholeness and joy, was the seed that inspired him to create Woodfield Nature Camps. Since 2017, Woodfield Nature Camps have hosted a six-day family camp program for 18 weeks each year. Families have the option to participate in a range of activities and programs focused on health, wellness, and familial bonding. The families that stayed at Woodfield have often endured weeks or months in hospitals, caring for children with various illnesses. Our program allows them to escape the stark medical settings and come together in nature—a place where they can begin their emotional healing journeys.
Woodfield has historically operated as a traditional farm. Mike Bradley, the owner of the land, purchased the property back in 2004. Shortly thereafter, the fields were populated with all kinds of critters. Mike introduced his land to everything from cows to buffalo to keep his four young children company.
In 2026, after hundreds of families affected by a child's serious illness had experienced the power of nature through Woodfield, Mike Bradley decided to wind down the charity and focus on his health and family. Nicholas, Mike’s eldest son, proposed repurposing the property as a wellness retreat venue, where Woodfield could leverage its strengths to continue providing that experience to wellness-based communities through like-minded wellness retreat leaders. This is the next chapter of an established destination.
